The inclusion of a link to an external website from our website(s) or social media page(s) should not be understood to be an endorsement of that website or it’s operator(s) (or their products/services). Further, the inclusion of a link does not necessarily imply an endorsement of the views expressed within the external website, nor any statements or views that the operator of the external website might hold or may hold in the future.
Inclusion of links
Where links to third-party content are included, they were selected because we believed them to be editorially relevant or that they would be of interest to our readers. Such reasons can include, but is not limited to:
- further relevant information or other key source material
- background information
- useful practical information
- entertainment or enjoyment
- further informed commentary
We do not link to external sites in return for cash, services or any other consideration in kind. Nor do we accept unsolicited submission or requests for inclusion from website operators.
We link to sites purely on editorial merit. These will most often be free to access, but users may sometimes be asked to register or subscribe before viewing content.
Links to external sites
External links are selected and reviewed when a page/post is published. However, we are not responsible for the content of external websites. This is because:
- we do not produce, maintain or update them
- we cannot change them
- the content on them can be changed without our knowledge or agreement.
Links to user generated material
Increasingly, many pages on our website(s) and our posts on social media websites contain references or links to content generated by members of the public (Retweets, Re-Posting, etc). These content would have been selected in line with the guidelines above, and any views expressed are those of the individual who posted up the original content and not shared by us, unless specifically stated.
