We don’t support the Polisario Front either financially or militarily, the Secretary-General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, has said.

“We do not have relations with the Polisario Front,” Nasrallah said in an event on Friday marking Lebanon’s Resistance and Liberation Day.

Morocco presented no proof of the Polisario-Hezbollah collusion, he added, stressing that the justifications it presented to severe its relations with Iran were “groundless”.

The evidences presented earlier by the Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita were “unfounded”, Nasrallah said.

On 1 May, Morocco cut diplomatic ties with Iran, accusing Tehran and Hezbollah, Iran’s ally, of “supporting the Polisario by training and arming its fighters via the Iranian embassy in Algeria to target national security and the supreme interests of Saudi Arabia.”

The Polisario Front is a liberation movement which aims to end Morocco’s presence in the Western Sahara.
