British Official discusses Syrian Crisis in Cairo

The British Minister for the Middle East and North Africa, Alistair Burt, arrived in Cairo from Bahrain on Wednesday in a 2-day visit to Egypt as a part of a tour of the region which will also take him to Saudi Arabia.

Airport sources note that the British official will meet with a number of Egyptian and Arab League officials, to look into the latest developments in the Middle East. Particularly the Syrian crisis and the situation of the Arab Spring countries, as well as the support Britain may be able to provide to Egypt during the upcoming period.


According to the sources, the British official is to discuss an increase in trade alongside economic and investment cooperation between Egypt and Britain.
