Russia claims foreign interference undermines Geneva II

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has accused the countries that support the Syrian opposition of undermining the Geneva II peace conference on the Syrian conflict.

Russia Today Arabic reported that Lavrov also blames the fractured opposition in Syria for the failure to reach a political solution to the Syrian conflict.

Lavrov called upon those states that have influence on the Syrian opposition to positively intervene in the situation with regard to convening the Geneva II conference.

In addition, Lavrov expressed his anger over the Syrian opposition's threats against the potential participants in the conference, including Russia.
