Syrian delegation arrives in Moscow to discuss Geneva II

A Syrian government delegation has arrived in Moscow to meet with Russian Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs Gennady Gatilov and Mikhail Bogdanov. On the agenda will be the preparations for the international Geneva II Conference which aims at finding a political solution to the Syrian crisis.

According to a statement from the Russian foreign ministry, the Syrian delegation includes Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad and Presidential Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban. The two Syrian officials are also scheduled to meet with Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov before heading back to Damascus.
