Turkey condemns massacre of Egyptian worshippers

January 30, 2014 at 1:49 pm

The Turkish Foreign Minister, Ahmet Davutoğlu, has condemned the massacre of pro-legitimacy worshippers in Egypt this morning near the Presidential Guard Barracks. 42 protestors were killed by gunfire and over 300 injured.

Witnesses and images from the massacre indicate that the gunfire had been sanctioned by the authorities. The army has denied that the massacre was ordered by the authorities and has claimed that terrorists had entered the barracks, despite images suggesting otherwise.

Sources from the scene of the massacre have also released images identifying the bullets used as military issued bullets.
