Social media activists circulated pictures on Tuesday revealing the early moments of Egypt’s former Minister of Supply Dr Bassam Odeh’s arrest. Odeh was one of the most popular ministers in President Mohamed Morsi’s administration.

The pictures revealed Odeh wearing a long beard and smiling, while raising four fingers to symbolise Rabaa Al-Adawiya, similar to the Muslim Brotherhood and the Freedom and Justice Party members whose arrests preceded his.

The Egyptian security services announced that Odeh had been arrested on Tuesday near the Al-Buheira governorate.

Odeh has been described as Egypt’s best Minister of Supply in recent history due to his great efforts to develop the Ministry, efforts that have been felt by all Egyptians, forcing even his opponents to testify to his efficiency.
