IDF General Rothschild cuts UK trip short amid concerns of arrest warrant

January 31, 2014 at 12:49 am

Retired Israeli Maj.Gen. Danny Rothschild has left the UK amid concerns of a potential arrest warrant being issued by the British courts today.

The Israeli Army Radio is reportedly to have announced that Rothschild was forced to cut his UK trip short after being advised by the Israeli embassy in London of pro-Palestinian groups’ plan to ask the UK magistrates to issue an arrest warrant for his part in the IDF war crimes during his service in the 1990s.

The former IDF General spoke at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) in Whitehall on Monday 4th July and was due to follow it with a speech in parliament on Tuesday 5th, organised by the neo-conservative pro-Israel think tank, Henry Jackson Society. However, MEMO has learned that Rothschild withdrew from yesterday’s event citing “personal reasons”.
