U.S. Senator John McCain said that President Obama failure to handle the issue of violence in Egypt has lost the United States its credibility in the Middle East. McCain made his remarks to the CNN network on Sunday.
The Guardian newspaper reported that McCain compared Obama’s position on Egypt and the U.S. policy on Syria. The senator summarised the U.S. policy in Syria as, “a policy of no policy, and no strategy which made the American reaction seem poor. The best example was when Obama said that Syria’s Bashar Assad use of chemical weapons was a red line. Assad did use chemical weapons and America has done nothing.”
