Mass demonstrations sweep Al-Azhar University

February 5, 2014 at 2:11 am

Hundreds of female students affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood in Al-Azhar University have demonstrated in front of the Female Engineering Faculty in Nasr City branch, on Sunday. The students held banners denouncing the army, the Al-Azhar supreme cleric, Ahmad Al Tayeb, and the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies.

The students said they will convene an urgent disciplinary hearing on the campus to examine the conduct of Dr Mohja Ghalib; who helped security forces to arrest female students and ordered four others to disciplinary councils for demonstrating. The students branded the four fingers symbol of Rabia Al Adawiya during their protests.
