Villagers stage protest to get gas cylinders

February 5, 2014 at 2:10 am

Villagers have staged a protest outside the Betina Agricultural Association in Egypt order to get gas cylinders. The demonstration was part of a series of protests against the incompetence of the coup authorities. A near-riot took place when someone announced that 500 cylinders had arrived in the village as the people have been desperate for the fuel supply to arrive.

Traffic was disrupted on the main road near the village as the villagers scrambled to get one of the cylinders. Most of the homes in the village ran out of fuel over a week ago. Staff at the centre feared for their safety as villagers blamed them for the disruption to the supplies.
