Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki has received a warm welcome on his return from the UN General Assembly in New York. Crowds at Carthage International Airport carried him shoulder-high for his speech at the UN in which he called for the release of Egypt's elected President Mohammed Morsi along with all other political prisoners.
Activists and human rights organisations have called for a public reception for Marzouki to thank him for tackling important issues at the UN. Aside from Egypt, Marzouki addressed the Palestinian issue in his address to world leaders.
