Initial death toll exceeds 2500

February 7, 2014 at 3:30 pm

The Egyptian-based Rassd News Network (RNN) reported that initial estimates indicate that the number of deaths as a result of the police and army crackdown on Egyptians is 2,500.

The report said that the death toll could increase due of the large numbers wounded with serious injuries and not receiving proper treatment.

Meanwhile, the news network RNN, run by activists, said that more than 30 Egyptians had been killed today in different governorates across the country. They were killed in clashes with the security forces when they took to the streets to protest against the massacres in Rabaa al-Adawiya and al-Nahda Squares.

The Egyptian Ministry of Health have put the death toll at just over 500.
