Below is the statement from Rashid al-Ghanouchi of Tunisia’s Al-Nahda movement:
The coup authorities in Egypt have carried out a massacre against peaceful protesters in Cairo and other Egyptian Squares. The massacre led to the death of hundreds and wounded thousands, a large number of whom are women and children.
We strongly condemn this crime against the Egyptians and their revolution, as well as the violations against civilians and unarmed women and children.
We express our complete solidarity with Egyptians and their right to regain their freedom and to refuse the coup against their will.
We call all Egyptian, regional and international parties to bear their responsibilities to stop this massacre and to support the strife of the Egyptians against the coup.
