Attorney General to disperse pro-Morsi protest

Egypt’s Interior Ministry has announced that Attorney General Hisham Barakat is due to issue the order to disperse the pro-Morsi protest in Cairo “within hours”.

The ministry released the news on its official Facebook page.

Hundreds of thousands of President Mohammed Morsi’s supporters have been participating in a sit-in since June 28 in Raba’a Adawiyya Square in Cairo suburb Nasr City and Renaissance Square. Their demands have included recognition of the legitimacy of Egypt’s first democratically-elected president.
