Security forces torched sleeping children's tents in Rabaa al-Adawiya

Egyptian security staff set fire to tents in the early morning while children were still sleeping, Dr Azzam Tamimi has written on his Facebook page.

Al-Jazeera reported that another doctor from the field clinic in Rabaa al-Adawiya had said that some of the wounded died in our hands because there had been no ambulances to take them to hospitals.

A first aid staff member was shot in the head whilst offering first aid to the wounded person.

We call for all institutions to put pressure on the security services to let ambulances enter Rabaa Al-Adawiya and transport the injured people.

Al Jazeera correspondent Abdul-Fattah Fayed has said that the number of causalities being reported is in fact much lower than the numbers on the ground.
