Israeli and Syrian forces exchange fire in the occupied Golan Heights

Israel’s Channel 10 radio has reported that Israeli troops exchanged fire on Sunday morning with Syrian forces near the Kuneitra Border Crossing, pointing out that the clash took place after gunfire from the Syrian side was directed across the border into the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

The station added that an IDF unit present at the border came under fire by Syrian forces near Kuneitra, when the Israeli forces fired back at the Syrian side in retaliation. No injuries were reported.

Israeli newspaper Maariv also reported that a Syrian mortar shell was fired towards the Israeli side of the occupied Golan Heights.
