Israeli prison security sweep wounds nine Palestinian prisoners

February 10, 2014 at 12:49 pm

Nine Palestinian inmates at Israel’s Ashkelon Prison were wounded on Monday night when security forces swept through their rooms before transferring them to cells, it has been revealed by the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club. All of the prisoners were treated badly, a club statement alleged.

In response to the resistance afforded by some of the prisoners, who refused to be transferred to cells, the Israeli Prison Service imposed severe sanctions on all prisoners. According to the Prisoners’ Club, the authorities cut drinking and washing water as well as electricity, which is needed for heat in the wintry cold.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces detained another two Palestinians on Tuesday morning, one of them a 60 year old man. Yousif Al-Farroukh was arrested when Israeli forces swept through Nablus, along with PA official Mahmoud Al-Moraqtan. The men were taken to an unknown destination.
