Israelis break truce and kill Palestinian in Gaza

Israeli occupation forces shot and killed a Palestinian man near Jabaliya City in the north of the Gaza Strip on Sunday. Paramedics said that 22-year old Odeh Hamad was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital. He had been shot three times.

According to the Israeli military, Hamad was shot while he was “planting an explosive device with a number of other Palestinians”. Witnesses deny this, however, and insist that he was collecting scrap metal in an area close to the ceasefire (“Green”) line. Thousands of Palestinians attended the young man’s funeral procession.

In a separate incident, the Israelis shot and wounded five farmers in Khozaa, to the east of Khan Younis in the east of the Gaza Strip. No further details have been reported.
