Three Israeli army vehicles stolen in occupied West Bank

February 10, 2014 at 10:14 am

Unknown thieves stole three Israeli army vehicles on Tuesday night from the military base at Al-Tofah roundabout on the road to Nablus in the occupied West Bank, Israeli Radio has reported.

The thieves are believed to have stolen the vehicles at midnight while they were parked outside the base perimeter. The soldiers inside the base claim that they did not see or hear anything suspicious due to heavy snow.

According to Israel Radio, the security forces combed the area to track-down the thieves and have opened an investigation into the incident.

Al-Tofah military base is considered to be a pivotal Israeli compound in the occupied West Bank because it connects a number of mountain routes with the city of Nablus. It is on the road to Jerusalem, the Jordan Valley and several Israeli settlements. A Palestinian youth stabbed an Israeli soldier there in February 2012.
