Danon: I absolutely reject the idea of a Palestinian state

Israel’s Deputy Defence Minister Danny Danon, who represents the right-wing Likud party in the Knesset, has expressed his complete rejection of the idea of a Palestinian state.

During an event in Ramat Gan on Wednesday called “Samaria, nice to meet you”, held in support of the settlements of the occupied West Bank, Danon vowed that Likud would never sign an interim agreement with the Palestinians.

The Palestinian Authority and the Israeli government have been conducting direct negotiations under the patronage of the US since mid-August in an effort to reach a solution and put an end to the ongoing conflict.
