February 11, 2014 at 12:25 pm

Two mortars shells landed in the upscale area of central Damascus on Saturday morning, and a number of wounded were reported.

Syria’s official news agency Sana stated that the two shells were launched by militias and landed in front of the Dar Al-Salam School, located in Al-Nijmeh Square in central Damascus.

Sana reported a number of causalities and unidentified material damage.

There have been several reports of mortar shells launched at Damascus neighbourhoods in recent days. The last attack took place this past Sunday, when two shells hit the Syrian Central Bank in the middle of the capital.

Several diplomatic offices have also been hit by mortar shells, the three most prominent targets being the Russian and Chinese embassies, and the Iraqi consulate.
