Qatar erases $150 million from Palestinian debt

US Secretary of State John Kerry announced that Qatar has agreed to erase $150 million from the Palestinian Authority’s debt following talks with his Qatari counterpart Khalid Al-Attiyah in Paris.

The Palestinian Authority claims that it is suffering from a severe financial crisis that could prevent it from paying the salaries of its employees, thus inviting Arab and Western countries to fulfil their financial obligations to the authority so that it can build its institutions.
