Nazi criminal lives in Israel

Israeli daily newspaper, Maariv has reported that the main office which investigates Nazi crimes has announced that a Nazi criminal is currently living in Israel.

The office said that it planned to prosecute 30 people who had served as guards at Auschwitz.

In a press conference in Germany, members of the office said that the German Public Prosecutor specialised in tracing Nazi war criminals recommended the prosecution of 30 guards of Auschwitz. All of them live in Germany.

Meanwhile, they said that there were seven Nazi war criminals living outside Germany, with one of them living in Israel.

Maariv described the news as “shocking” and “unbelievable.” It said that the news was received “devastatingly” among Israelis.

The newspaper reported the Israeli Nazi hunter, Efraim Zuroff, as saying, “I did not have any idea about this or about whom they are speaking of. I did not have any information about the existence of any Nazi war criminal that is hiding in Israel”
