Israeli crackdown on Palestinian journalists

February 13, 2014 at 2:56 am

Five Palestinian journalists were wounded when Israeli occupation forces attacked them at Qalandya military checkpoint as they tried to enter Jerusalem. Ironically, the journalists were launching a campaign for freedom of movement for workers in the profession.

Medical sources said that the journalists sustained light injuries and gave their names as Nedaa Younis, Aseel al-Araj, Naela Khalil, Mofeed abu-Hasna and Omar abdul-Razeq.

The Palestinian Journalists’ Union has called for all of its members to have freedom of movement in line with international conventions.
