After a series of failures, Mossad campaign to recruit new agents

Yediot Aharonot newspaper said today that Israel’s national intelligence service Mossad has launched an extensive recruitment campaign on the Internet that urges Israelis “to join its ranks.” The campaign comes in the wake of the scandal of prisoner X, Ben Zygier, who was Jewish, of Australian origin; the media exposed great failures in his recruitment.

Yediot pointed out “the campaign is the largest Mossad campaign of its kind in recent years, and is focused on Internet websites and on social media networks in particular.” The campaign comes under the slogan, “with enemies like these, friends are needed,” and presents a long list of professions wanted by Mossad.

The Zionist intelligence organisation’s website reads: “If you have boldness, wisdom and intelligence, you could have an influence and make a national and personal achievement. If you can provoke and motivate people, then you are likely to be made of the raw material that we are looking for. If you have all of the abovementioned, the Mossad welcomes you.”

Among the required professions announced by Mossad are multilingual graduates of intelligence units (fluency in Persian and Arabic recommended), foreign language teachers, high-tech professions, chemists, laboratory workers, technical designers, lawyers, clinical psychiatrists, store trustees and even carpenters.
