Gifted and talented children were among hundreds of young people who have taken part in the annual Festival of Childhood in Gaza City. The event was organised by the University College of Applied Sciences at its main campus.
One of the main aims of the programme is to tackle the trauma suffered by children as a direct result of Israel’s aggression against the civilians of Gaza. Children taking part had the opportunity to be involved in what has become a major event in the beleaguered territory while engaging in educational but fun activities. They also helped to establish a sense of identity by appearing in traditional Palestinian dress.
A number of national and international children’s NGOs sponsored the festival as part of their support to alleviate suffering among children in Gaza.
