Hamas: An-Najah's election results confirm the failure of dual arrests

February 15, 2014 at 1:28 pm

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas described the victory of its students’ arm (Islamic Bloc) at An-Najah National University in Nablus by 33 seats against 43 seats for the Fatah movement as a “great triumph.”

A spokesman for the movement, Fawzi Barhoum, said in a written statement that this ratio shows “the support” of the students and public for the program of those who protect and defend them and sacrifice for them despite all the years of liquidation and deprivation.”

He said: “This great achievement confirms the failure of the dual arrests and prosecutions policy which is carried out by the security agencies of the Occupation and the Palestinian Authority to break the will of the masses and undermine the public determination. This is a call to all of those who bet to write off Hamas, damage its reputation and isolate it from its solid public bases, to review their accounts and join the choices of their people.”

The movement congratulated the Palestinian people, the people of the West Bank, the masses of students and the sons of the Islamic bloc on the results, which were described by Hamas as a “great victory” achieved by the Islamic bloc at An-Najah National University.
