One Palestinian has been killed by a missile fired from an Israeli drone in the Gaza Strip. The attack took place while the victim was riding his motorcycle in the south-west of Gaza City. A spokesman for the Ministry of Health identified the dead man as Haitham Al-Meshal, 29. He was a member of the security staff at Al-Shifa Hospital in the city.

Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported official claims that Mr Al-Meshal was responsible for the launch of three homemade rockets fired at Elat in the south of Israel.

This is the first such killing of a Palestinian by a drone-launched missile since Israel’s offensive against the civilians of Gaza in November last year. Israeli occupation forces carry out limited incursions into the Gaza Strip on a fairly frequent basis, however, shooting farmers in the process.

In Jerusalem, meanwhile, a Jew stabbed an Arab Palestinian cleaner on Tuesday morning, Israeli media reported. He was rushed to hospital for treatment as his condition was described as “serious”. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed by Israeli security officials.
