Israeli parliamentarian calls for incursion into Al-Aqsa Sanctuary

An extreme right-wing member of the Israeli Knesset (MK) has called for Jews to storm the Noble Sanctuary of Al-Aqsa this week to perform religious rituals for Passover, which coincides with the Christian Easter festival. Al-Aqsa Foundation for Religious Endowments and Islamic Heritage warned of the potentially serious consequences of such an incursion.

The Foundation called on Muslims to maintain a vigil in Al-Aqsa Mosque compound to undermine by peaceful means the intended “celebratory” move by extremist Jews, which is expected to take place on Wednesday.

Palestinian Legislative Council member, Khamis al-Najjar, called on the Arab leaders meeting in Doha to take immediate steps to stop this desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque and grounds.
