UAE to release 103 Egyptian prisoners

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, has ordered the release of 103 Egyptian prisoners who are serving sentences for various crimes.

According to the Emirates News Agency, the decision includes writing-off the fines imposed on the prisoners as part of their sentences.


 

“The decision to release the Egyptian prisoners was taken in the context of Sheikh Khalifa’s keenness to give them a chance to start a new life and relieve the suffering of their families,” added the agency.
