An Israeli court extended, on Thursday, February 21, the administrative detention period of the Palestinian Legislative Council member, Fathi Qraawi.

The Change and Reform parliamentary bloc confirmed that the occupation authorities extended its administrative detention order against its member Qraawi, 55 years-old, for an additional three months.

The MP’s son, Hazem Qraawi, told Quds Press that the release of his father from the Israeli prison in Megiddo was scheduled for yesterday, but the Salem military court extended his detention period again.

Fathi Qraawi was taken from his home in Tulkarem on November 24, 2011. The total number of MPs currently held in detention in Israeli jails now stands at 15; 12 of whom are members of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), two MPs from Fatah, in addition to the Secretary General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Ahmed Saadat.
