February 17, 2014 at 11:20 pm

The Palestinian government in Gaza, headed by Ismail Haniyeh, has filed a complaint to the United Nations General Assembly about Israeli attacks and crimes against the Palestinian people in the besieged territory.

Government spokesman Taher Al-Nunu called on the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to take action to stop Israeli aggression and the targeting of Palestinian civilians. He pointed out that his government has sent messages to the Arab League, the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) wherein it reviewed the crimes of the Israeli occupation and its killing of civilians, and called for action to stop the aggression.

The Israeli escalation which started on Saturday evening resulted in the deaths of six Palestinians and the wounding of more than 30 others, including women and children. Many of the wounded are described as being in a “serious” condition.
