Growing racism in Israel

February 17, 2014 at 11:17 pm

A report on Israel radio has revealed that manifestations of racial discrimination are widespread across Israeli society. The racism is particularly evident between Jews and Arabs, but there is also evidence of racism between Jews themselves and against African refugees who come to work in Israel.

The report noted instances of attempted arson attacks on buildings in which African refugees are staying in Tel Aviv; an Israeli man has been charged with the attacks. Haim Mola appeared at the Central Court in Tel Aviv on Thursday accused of throwing Molotov cocktails and damaging houses inhabited by African refugees.
