February 17, 2014 at 11:19 pm

Informed sources report that the leadership of the Hamas Political Bureau, headed by Khaled Meshaal, has held a senior-level meeting in Cairo over the past two days. The anonymous sources told Quds Press that the meeting convened in the presence of leaders from inside and outside Palestine discussed a number of political and procedural issues. The ongoing Israeli threats against Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Judaisation process were prominent items on the agenda.

The discussion stressed the need to move on the national, regional and international levels in order to confound the Israeli schemes.

The sources pointed out that the political bureau also discussed the reconciliation issue. Those present insisted on the importance of continuing all efforts to put an end to the Palestinian division and unite the nation. The bureau also discussed the movement’s internal elections and checked that the preparations are going smoothly.

The Hamas delegation in Cairo was headed by Mr. Meshaal, and included elected Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, Dr. Moussa Abu Marzouk, Sami Khater, Izzat Al-Rishq, Mohammed Nasr, Mahmoud El-Zahar, Khalil al-Hayya, Saleh Al-Arouri and Nizar Awadallah.
