An Indonesian delegation consisting of 45 parliamentarians, journalists and civil society leaders arrived in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, 29 November.

The delegation entered through the Rafah Crossing and met with Palestinian officials in the Dar al Quran and Sunnah in Rafah.

After a brief reception, the Indonesian delegation visited the Legislative Council where they were received by a number of Palestinian deputies. Deputy Speaker of the parliament, Dr Ahmed Bahar, thanked the visitors for their strong and unwavering support.

Later on, the Indonesian guests met with Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh at his residence. It must be recalled that the Israelis had destroyed the government headquarters during their recent aggression on the Gaza Strip.

This latest delegation is one of many from Indonesia to have visited the Strip since the Israeli blockade began.
