Israel plans to expel 1,000 Palestinians from occupied Jordan Valley

The Israeli army is planning to expel 1,000 Palestinians from their homes in the occupied Jordan Valley, the leader of the council of Al-Maleh village revealed on Monday. The expulsions are planned for Wednesday.

According to Councillor Aref Daraghmeh, villagers received written notices several days ago stating that the Israeli army is planning to carry out military exercises in the village. Villagers living in the pastoral areas of Wadi al-Maleh, Ein al-Hilwa, Wadi al-Faow and Al-Meyteh, Al-Burj will lose their homes as a result of the army’s plans.

This is the widest deportation wave since 1967, although not the first for Al-Maleh. The village has witnessed similar deportations of dozens of families for the same “military” reasons.
