Jewish settlers set fire to hundreds of acres of agricultural land in West Bank

February 17, 2014 at 11:17 pm

Palestinian sources in Tulkarem, in the occupied West Bank, have accused illegal Jewish settlers of setting fire to hundreds of acres of agricultural land. The land in question is owned by the village of Qaffin, about 30 kilometres north of the city.

In a press statement, Tulkarem Civil Defence officers said that a fire crew had to be despatched to Qaffin when it was set alight by settles from the nearby illegal settlement of Homesh. Olive and other trees on the land were destroyed by the flames.

The Director of Tulkarem Civil Defence appealed to the Red Cross to put pressure on the Israelis to stop the crimes being committed by settlers in full view of the Israeli army.
