Jordanian Brotherhood mediates for Egypt to supply gas

February 17, 2014 at 11:19 pm

A delegation from the Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan, led by its leader Hammam Said, is heading for Cairo to discuss the possibility of Egyptian natural gas being pumped to Amman. Supplies have been stopped for some time.

According to the movement’s media section, Deputy Leader Zaki Bani Arshid said that they are hoping to get supplies of gas at the same levels as before. The move comes after discussions in Amman between the Brotherhood and the Jordanian Foreign Minister, Nasser Jodeh.

The minister told Jordanian TV on Sunday that he has urged the Islamic movement to get involved due to its positive relationship with the new government in Egypt. He confirmed that discussions about the supply of natural gas to Jordan have already been agreed with Cairo.
