Syrian Observatory: 916 murdered in Syria in a week

The director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has reported that 916 people were killed in various parts of the country during the last week.
 
Rami Abdel Rahman told the German Press Agency (DPA) that this figure was collated during the week between 20-26 June, and that the numbers of victims continue to rise day after day.


Meanwhile, Jean-Marie Guehenno, deputy UN envoy to Syria confirmed in Beirut yesterday that the violence in Syria had “reached or even exceeded” the level that existed prior to the ceasefire agreement, which entered into force on the 12 April 2012.
