The Foreign Minister of Tunisia has arrived in Gaza at the head of a high-level delegation to show solidarity with the people of Gaza.

Rafiq Abdul Salam and twelve of his ministerial colleagues entered the beleaguered Palestinian territory through the Rafah crossing from Egypt.

A number of Palestinian ministers, leaders and officials received the delegates at the border, from where they were escorted to view the Council of Ministers headquarters in Gaza City, which was destroyed by the Israelis overnight. They also visited Al Shifa hospital to witness at first hand the number of civilian casualties.

Although Dr Abdul Salam had intended to visit a school built by the Tunisian government in Gaza, he was advised against doing so after it was bombed yesterday by the Israelis.

On Friday, Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Kandil also visited Gaza Strip and met his Palestinian counterpart Ismail Haniyeh at the same building. Just hours later, Israeli missiles hit the building as part of the rogue state’s assault on Gaza’s civilian infrastructure.
