Withdrawing recognition of Israel is a "valid option"

A senior member of the PLO Executive Committee has said that withdrawing recognition of Israel is a “valid option” in the event of the collapse of other possibilities. Dr. Hanan Ashrawi made her statement as she confirmed that the organisation is putting together a formula to respond to the Israeli government’s policies and continued violation of international laws.

In remarks published by the Palestinian Authority’s official media, Dr. Ashrawi said that withdrawal of the Palestine Liberation Organisation’s recognition of Israel has not been brought up for discussion yet. “First,” she said, “we have to respond to Israel’s Judaisation and settlement projects by activating the Popular Resistance.” The ex-Palestinian negotiator added that the Palestinians have to move regionally and internationally at the highest levels to prosecute Israel for breaking international laws and conventions.
