The Israeli-Palestinian peace talks have taken a bizarre new twist with the claim that the Egyptian media has been banned from taking photographs of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with the Palestinian negotiating team. According to an Egyptian journalist specialising in Palestinian affairs, Ibrahim Al-Darawy, the ban was put in place during the Sharm El-Sheikh sessions of the talks, hindering the publication of pictures of Mrs. Clinton’s meetings with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Chief Negotiator Saeb Erekat. No official explanation has been given for the ban on the publication of what have been described as “close and friendly” photographs taken in the Egyptian resort.
