Israel tells 10 Palestinian families that their homes are to be demolished

February 20, 2014 at 3:29 pm

Palestinian sources in the occupied West Bank have reported that the Israeli occupation forces have issued eviction notices to ten Palestinian families in Farseya district of El-Maleh, in the north of the Ghor area. The families’ homes were due to be demolished within 24 hours of the notices being issued. The reason given by the authorities is that the homes were built without a permit in “Israeli-controlled Area C”. The sources added that most of these houses belong to the Daraghme and Makhamra families, who own the land on which their houses were built and are registered with the official land registry.

The owners called on the Palestinian Authority, the media and human rights organisations to raise the issue, support the residents and put pressure on the Israeli authorities to cancel the evictions and demolitions.
