Israeli house demolitions gather momentum

This morning (19.07.2010) Israeli Occupation Forces began the demolition of 65 houses and tents; home to fifteen Palestinian families and approximately 110 individuals who work within the agricultural sector. The area is located within the Persian district in al-Aghwar, north of the West Bank.

The Occupation Forces proceeded to demolish the homes without any advanced warnings to the owners who have lived in these house for over 50 years while being deprived of even the most basic necessities of life such as electricity, health care and piped water in order to pressurise them into leaving their lands for which they possess title deeds in their names.

The Israeli Occupation began this demolition campaign in order to expand the nearby settlement of Nihula located near to Palestinian farms. This current Israeli action displaces women and children to nearby regions while the men remain in their lands to resist all steps to confiscate their land after having destroyed their houses.

In the same context of this heart rendering image, are the sprawling settlement units of the Israeli settlers who have robbed and continue to rob Palestinians of their territory in order to extend what they already have.
