Jewish group plans to storm Al-Aqsa sanctuary

February 20, 2014 at 3:34 pm

A Palestinian heritage organisation has warned of Jewish plans to storm the Noble Sanctuary of Al-Aqsa on Sunday 18 September. Al Aqsa Foundation for Heritage and Endowments claims that the attack will be part of Jewish extremists’ plans to destroy the mosque and build a temple in its place.

According to the Foundation, a group of Jewish organizations called the “Movement for the establishment of the Temple” have distributed leaflets and launched online campaigns calling for Jews to take part in the rampage in Jerusalem. Jews are asked to break into Al-Aqsa Mosque itself at the same time.

It is alleged that Israel’s Deputy Prime Minister of Israel, Silvan Shalom, will attend amid calls to “accelerate” the project to build “the Temple” on the ruins of the mosque. Al-Aqsa Foundation urged Palestinians to respond to the Israeli plans by spending as much time as possible in the precincts of the sanctuary to deter such an incursion.
