Knesset discusses "the deterioration of Israel's international standing"

February 20, 2014 at 3:30 pm

The Israeli opposition Kadima Party has revealed that it is looking to force Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to participate in the parliamentary debate to consider “the deterioration of Israel’s standing internationally”. The Chair of Kadima’s parliamentary bloc, Dalia Itzik, claims to have 40 signatures supporting the demand to pressurise the Prime Minister to participate in the discussion; six Knesset members from ruling coalition parties have also signed the motion. This kind of support is a first according to Ms. Itzik.

Kadima has criticized the policy of the Israeli government, which refused to meet Washington’s demand for a partial freeze on settlement activity in return for “unique American guarantees”.
