Muslim Brotherhood sweeps Pharmacists Syndicate elections in Egypt

The semi-final results of elections for Egypt’s Pharmacists’ Syndicate revealed that the Muslim Brotherhood has won the post of Secretary General; the leadership of eight sub-syndicates, and 13 out of the 15 governorate councils they ran for.
 
Dr Mohamed Abdel Gawad won the position of Secretary General winning more than 50% of Cairo and the governorates’ votes surpassing his three rivals by a significant margin.

The Coalition of Egyptian Pharmacists which represents the Muslim Brotherhood and their allies achieved full victory by obtaining 12 out of 12 of the general level seats. At the district level, the coalition won nice seats in Egypt’s governorates. The Brotherhood and its allies are to form the Syndicate’s Council with a Brotherhood majority of 22 out of 25 representatives.
 
At the sub-syndicates level, the coalition won in more than 13 of the 15 governorates it ran for. The Muslim Brotherhood has secured the leadership of eight sub-syndicates so far.
