OIC denounces Israeli attacks on Gaza

The Organisation of the Islamic Conference has denounced the latest Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip in which one Palestinian was killed and ten others were injured. OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu called the ongoing Israeli aggression “a persistent defiance of international law”. The attacks, he added, are especially despicable given that they target an unarmed civilian population and buildings housing humanitarian aid agencies.

Mr. Ihsanoglu was referring to the fact that the office of the OIC’s humanitarian department in the Gaza Strip was damaged in the Israeli attacks last week. He urged nation states and international organizations to take appropriate action “to stop the Israeli aggression and lift the unfair siege on the Gaza Strip”.
