University student bleeds to death after being shot by Israeli forces

February 20, 2014 at 3:33 pm

Israeli Special Forces assassinated a student from the Najah National University in the city of Nablus yesterday. Medical sources have revealed that the young victim was 22 years Ibrahim Sarhan; a third-year student in the faculty of engineering.

According to sources close to the victim’s family, Israeli Special Forces opened fire on the young man shortly after he left dawn prayers at the Abu Bakr al-Siddique Mosque in the al-Faria refugee camp. He was shot in the legs; however, ambulances were prevented from reaching him and he bled to death after a few hours.

In a statement issued shortly before the young man’s funeral, Hamas condemned the killing asserting that is was a new crime perpetrated by the Occupation against the Palestinian people and confirming that Sarhan was one of its activists in al-Faria Camp east of Nablus City.

Crowds of sympathisers and supporters escorted the young man’s body for burial amid demands for revenge against Israeli soldiers.
